Two historic journeys, one shared football identity and a story that continues.
The club’s football history dates back to 1947, when an organised sporting presence began and laid the foundations for the development of football in the city.
In the early post-war years, the football forces of Aspropyrgos united under the name Πανασπροπυργιακός, wearing blue and white. From 1951 the team competed in the Piraeus Football Clubs Association championships, beginning a journey deeply connected with the sporting life and identity of the city.
In the season 1969–70, Panaspropyrgiakos won the Piraeus First Division title. It then competed in the Hellenic Football Federation’s special champions’ tournament, finished first in its group and earned promotion for the first time to the Second Division.
This was followed by five consecutive seasons in the Second Division, from 1970–71 through 1974–75. This run remains one of the most significant periods in the football history of Aspropyrgos.
In 1978 another golden page was written. Panaspropyrgiakos won the Piraeus Cup and then the Greek Amateur Cup, reaching the summit of Greek amateur football.
During its historic journey, the club also won Piraeus First Division championships in the seasons 1975–76 and 1981–82, confirming its consistent presence and competitive strength for more than two decades.
Panaspropyrgiakos continued until 1995, when it merged with Doxa Aspropyrgou and became one of the two historic foundations of the unified club.
“From the pitches of Piraeus to the Second Division and the top of amateur football.”
In 1971 Doxa Aspropyrgou was founded, wearing black and white. Its official competitive journey began in the season 1972–73, through the Piraeus Football Clubs Association competitions.
With a consistent presence and strong ties to the local community, Doxa developed into one of the city’s important football forces.
In the season 1991–92, it won its group in the Piraeus First Division, became overall champion and earned promotion to the Fourth Division.
Doxa returned to the top of Piraeus football in the season 1994–95, winning the Group B title of the Piraeus First Division. In the same season it also reached the Piraeus Cup final.
Its distinctive journey, from its founding in 1971 to the major achievements of the 1990s, became the second great historical foundation of today’s club.
In 1995, Doxa Aspropyrgou joined forces with Panaspropyrgiakos, opening a new shared chapter for football in the city.
“Since 1971, Doxa wrote its own distinctive chapter in the football history of Aspropyrgos.”
In 1995, Panaspropyrgiakos and Doxa Aspropyrgou joined forces to create a unified club, widely known as Enosi Aspropyrgou.
The merger brought together the histories, traditions and people of both clubs under one football identity, aiming to create a stronger sporting representative for the city.
Enosi began its competitive journey in the Fourth Division, where it competed from 1995–96 through 1998–99. In 1997 the first title of the new era arrived with victory in the Piraeus Cup.
In the season 2001–02, the team won the Piraeus First Division title and returned to the Fourth Division. From 2003 it joined the West Attica Football Clubs Association, building a strong presence in local competitions and winning successive cups.
The season 2008–09 was one of the highlights of the club’s modern history. The team became champion of Group 7 of the Fourth Division and earned promotion to the Third Division, completing the campaign with 29 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat and 89 points.
In the same season, the team reached the Greek Amateur Cup final, completing an outstanding year full of success and distinction.
In the season 2016–17, Aspropyrgos won both the West Attica championship and cup, returning to the Third Division.
The high point of the new upward journey came in the season 2018–19. The team became champion of Group 8 of the Third Division and earned promotion to the Football League. A defining moment was the emphatic victory by 5–0 against Kalamata.
Two consecutive seasons in the professional divisions followed, in 2019–20 and 2020–21.
In the season 2024–25, the team won the West Attica First Division championship, adding another title to its journey.
Today, the historic legacy of Panaspropyrgiakos and Doxa remains the foundation on which the club continues to build its future through the men’s team, the Academy and its connection with the city.
“Two historic journeys came together in one team, with a shared identity and a shared future.”
